Mercury Retrograde and the New Moon in Cancer

Sun Entering Sidereal Leo
On Friday, August 16th, the Sun will enter Sidereal Leo, transitioning us from Cancer's nurturing vibes to Leo's fiery energy. This period highlights the importance of self-expression and finding comfort within ourselves before expressing it outwards.
Full Moon in Aquarius
The Full Moon in Aquarius on Monday, August 19th, coupled with Saturn retrograding in Aquarius, brings a focus on long-term goals. This time invites you to release habits or goals that no longer align with your ambitions. Expect an episode on this next week!
Venus Enters Virgo
On Saturday, August 24th, Venus moves into Virgo, marking the start of the harvest season. This shift asks us to peel back and reflect on our growth, transitioning from the outward energy of Leo to the introspective nature of Virgo. Venus is debilitated in Virgo, and will be conjoining Ketu there this year--I shared a lot of thoughts on the podcast episode about how to work with these potentially challenging energies. :)
Mars Enters Gemini
Monday, August 26th, sees Mars entering Gemini, which brings a surge of quick thinking and action. Be mindful of the potential for fiery communications and think before speaking, especially until Mercury goes direct a couple days later..
Mercury Direct in Cancer
Mercury will go direct in Cancer on Wednesday, August 28th, concluding its retrograde period. This shift allows for smoother communication and execution of plans moving forward.

- Somatic Trauma Healing: Focus on where emotional experiences land in your body.
- Double-Checking Plans: Re-evaluate and confirm plans to avoid mishaps.
- Clearing and Making Space: Organize and declutter both mentally and physically.
What August is Not Ideal For
- Sharp, Cutting Tongues: Avoid speaking impulsively.
- Impulsive Actions: Think before you act, especially as Mars moves into Gemini and Mercury retrograde concludes.
Yoga Practices
- Restorative Yoga: Focus on deep relaxation and nervous system regulation, especially during the Mercury retrograde period. This will help you stay grounded and avoid reactive communication. This will also give space to explore parts of the body you may be detached from.
- Somatic Movement: Engage in practices that help you connect with your body and emotions, such as gentle yoga flows, body scans, and mindful walking.
- Heart-Opening Practices: Incorporate heart-opening poses like Camel Pose (Ustrasana) or Bridge Pose (Setu Bandhasana) to support emotional expression and self-love, particularly around the Full Moon in Aquarius and when mercury retrogrades back to cancer.
- Grounding Practices: During this emotionally intense month, grounding practices like standing poses (e.g., Mountain Pose, Tree Pose) and breathwork (e.g., Nadi Shodhana) can help you stay centered.

- What intentions do I want to set around my home, family, and personal life? Especially consider how this may differ for what home and family may have looked like for you growing up, and what you want to integrate or leave behind.

- Where do I feel dissatisfaction or detachment in my life, and how can I address these feelings somatically?
- What does true luxury mean to me, and how can I create a sense of abundance from within?
- What areas of my life still need nurturing or attention as I move into the latter part of the year and eclipse season?
